Summary : Part 3,Ch.2
The second chapter of the third part is about Candido and America,who are in danger.
At the begining of the chapter America misses her family and she hates Candido and is angry about him ,because he has made her to come to the U.S.But then a bird sings and she calms down and think about ,that Candido loves her .Later Candido comes back home with a turkey for thanks giving and fire spread out by preparing this.At first the leaves starts to burn and then everything else,so the must escape.They run to a Chinese store,even it's hard for America ,because she's pregnant and weak.Behind the store they get precious water from a hose.Candido is afraid about his punishment when the police finds out that that he is responsible for this fire.He thinks,that they would put him into a gas chamber.In addition they now only have about 17 dollars and the rest of their money and their apartement are burning.The next problem is,that America thinks,that her water broke and her baby is coming but there is no midwife ,no electricity and water and Candido never has delivered a baby.Therefore he goes away from Amercia to find a place,where are better conditions to deliver a baby or to get help.He arrives at a white stucco wall and works his way along the wall .Candido is of the opionion that are houses ,where richt people live behind the wall .Consequently he goes behind the wall and finds a shed place where he can take América to give birth to and he goes back to America to lead her into the shed.the leaves starts to burn.
