Defeating the Armada
The ships wich were sailing towards England in July 1588 were the mightiest fleet the world had ever seen- the Invincible Spanish Armada.
Because he wanted to punish England, King Philip of Spain planned to invade the country. As his plans had been blessed by the Pope, he was confident and though God was on his side.
When the ships were sighted, messenger were sent to the English admiral, Sir Francis Drake.
Drake was in Plymouth at the time and was playing a game of bowls. e listnened carefully while he continued his game and said:" The Spanish can wait."
After he had finished he went to sea with his ships and looked for the Armada.
As Darke had often fought the Spanish and had never been beaten, he felt no fear and relied on his experience.
As the Spanish ships were so big and slow, they could not catch the English, who were sailing around them and were shooting at them.
But because the Armada had been well organized and was sailing in a well-ordered formation it could not be beaten by such strategies.
When they had reached Calais the Spanish anchored, as they wanted to pick up more troops from the mainland.
Now the English attacked and sent in fireships, wich were blazing with pitch and tar and threatened to set the Spanish ship on fire. The Spanish captains panicked and made for the open sea.
Because they had broken the close formation of the Armada, the English could now move in and sank one Spanish ship after the other.
The Armada was drifting helplessly into the North Sea, the English victory was complete. |
The ships wich were sailing towards England in July 1588 were the mightiest fleet the world had ever seen- the Invincible Spanish Armada. (dort finde ich nichts...)
Having planed to invade the country, King Philip of Spain wanted to punish England. Having blessed his plans by the Pope, he was confident by thinking God was on his side. (???)
After sending messenger to the English admiral, Sir Francis Drake, the ships were sighted.
Having been in Plymouth, Drake was playing a game of bowls. Continued his game, he having listened carefully and said:" The Spanish can wait."
After been finished, he went to sea with his ships, looking for the Armada.

Couldn´t catch the English while the Spanish ships were so big and slow, having sailed around them and shooting at them.
Having organized well and sailing in a well-ordered formation of the Armada, couldn´t be beaten by such strategies.
Reaching Calais the Spanish anchored, wanted to pick up more tropps from the mainland.(??? :( )
Having send the fireships from England, blazing with pitch and tar, threatened to set the Spanish ship on fire (...?)
After the Spanish Captain panicked, he made for the open sea.
Because having broke the close formation of the Armada, the English could move in and sank one Shpanish ship after the other.
The English victory was complete, while the Armada was drifting helplessly into the North Sea...
... sicherlich nur Fehler... :( ... Wäre trotzdem schön, wenn mal jemand drüber sehen würde :)

So, das müsste jetzt theoretisch stimmen :)
