| Aufgabe | It just ain't fair
Marvin couldnt wait to see Elliot after school. It was always a lot of fun to play basketball with him. Marvin left school after his last lesson and went towards the park where he usually met Elliot. He went through areas which he knew only because they were on the way to the basketball courts .His own home lay in the opposite direction. The streets here were dirty and everything was busier and noisier than in his own neighbourhood.
When he arrived at the basketball courts, Elliot was already shooting baskets. Even from a distance you could se that he was tall and very strong. Then Elliot noticed Marvin and threw the ball towards him.
Ready? he asked.
Ready, said Marvin.
I wonder whos stealing all those car radios around here, said Marvin after they had played for about an hour.
Thats small change, man, said Elliot. If you want to make it big in this life, you gotta go big. Its easier to take the whole car. Eliot threw the ball high into the air and it fell easily into the basket. People who got nothing go out and take it, see? He threw the ball at Marvin. But I can tell you this, man. It wasnt me. I got eight months after I broke into old Feldmans place. That was enough for me. It was the most expensive television I ever seen or hope to see. Do you want to play again tomorrow afternoon? asked Marvin.
No, man. Im busy. I got something to do. Marvin started to walk home. He liked Elliot like a big brother. He thought about how he had helped Elliot in the English test. Marvin did not like to do it, but he felt that a little help might get Elliot the grades he needed. Elliot had to get better grades or he might drop out of school. And then nobody could help him.
As Marvin walked past an alley, he heard a strange noise, as if someone was talking an old nail out of a piece of wood. He went into the alley, but he could not see anything expect a large car at the other end. Then Marvin noticed that the car was moving a bit, so he went nearer- until he saw the broken glass and two heads. Suddenly he felt a hand on his arm. Slowly he turned round. Joe McDowell! Dont make a sound, said Joe and pushed Marvin against the wall. Soon tow other white kids ran up to them. One was Joes brother bill. Marvin did not recognize the other. They had a little box. Got another one, said Bill. Surrounded by the three boys, Marvin said, Hey, you guys, what is this? Joe looked at him. You tell anyone what youve seen, boy, and youre in trouble. Hear me? BOY! Marvin hated that word, but he said, Sure. Then the three boys ran away.
Marvin was nervous, but he was not frightened. He had been mugged before by strangers. He had been frightened when they had hit him and taken his money, but this was crazy. These kids went to school with him. He saw them every day.
At home his father said, Hi Marv, where have you been?
Out, said Marvin.
I can see that, said his father. Youve just come through the door. So where have you been?
I had a game of basketball.
With Elliot again?
Elliot is all right, said Marvin.
Yeah, sure. Marvins father looked away as if to say, how many times have I told you? Im going to see your mother tomorrow. Do you want to come with me?
Marvin smiled. Sure. His father looked at him seriously. Did anything happen this evening? Marvin shook his head. Everything is OK, he said and went to his room.
The next day Marvin was glad that he did not have to see the McDowell brothers until later in the morning. But as ha was on his way to the classroom, he saw Elliot between two police officers. They were walking towards the principals office. It just aint fair, man, Elliot was saying. It just aint fair. Marvin started to say something, but then he saw Joe McDowell outside the classroom. Marvin still had Elliots words in his ears when Joe said, Remember what we said.
Its OK, said Marvin. I didnt say anything. In class everybody was talking about Elliot. But the McDowell brothers said nothing. The whole time they watched Marvin carefully. Marvin felt nervous and his heard started to beat quickly as he said, It wasnt Elliot. Joes and Marvins eyes met.
It wasnt Elliot, said Marvin again. I was with him all afternoon.
Its good of you to try to help Elliot, said Mr Welsh, but somebody saw a black boy in the alley.
The always see a black boy, said a voice from the black of the class. Marvin felt weak. The McDowell brothers were smiling. Then suddenly the door opened and Elliot walked into the room. The two police officers went to Mr Welsh and talked to him. The class was quiet. The McDowell brothers began to look nervous. Mr Welsh looked at the class. Joe, Bill. These officers would like to talk to you. Why us? shouted Joe.
You should talk to these two officers, said Elliot, because they have some interesting questions. And when theyve finished, I have some questions about who put the finger on me. The McDowell brothers walked out of the classroom. Half an hour later, they left the school building with the two police officers. What happened? asked Marvin as they left the classroom together.
We phoned old Feldman, said Elliot. You know I broke into his store last year. Now I go there sometimes and help him. Hes going to help me with a job later. Well, I was in that store with him yesterday after our game, and he told that to the police. And do you know what else he said? Some kids have offered me a lot of car radios. You should talk to the McDowell brothers. Elliot laughed, then he looked at Marvin seriously. I hear you tried to help me. Marvin nodded.
Want to shoot some baskets? Marvin smiled.
Sure.
Ok. Lets go. |
Das ist eine Geschichte aus meinem Englischbuch. Ich verstehe sie nicht. Ok einige Wörter aber denn Sinn nicht. Kann sie mir jemand etwas übersetzen. Braucht nicht Wort wörtlich zu sein. Zusammengefasst reicht. völlig Ich muss über diese Geschichte eine Seite (Handgeschrieben) sagen was mir an ihr gefallen hat und was nicht auch auf Englisch. (Vielleicht auch ein kleiner Tipp was ich schreiben könnte ;) )

Ps.: So weit habe ich schon verstanden: Elliot ist der beste freund von Marvin. marvin hat ein Vater der Elliot nicht leiden kann.

Also ersteinmal, du hast es richtig verstanden, dass Eliott und Marvin sehr gute Freuden sind 
Wichtig ist bei dieser Geschichte sicherlich die Hautfarbe der Personen, es geht nämlich im Großen und Ganzen um Vorurteile gegenüber farbigen Menschen..
Nun aber mal der Reihe nach
Also MArvin und Eliott spielen gerne zusammen Basketball, wo bei sich das Besketballfeld in einer Gegend befindet, die ziemlich laut und belebt ist - es scheint eine Art Ghettoviertel zu sein!
Hier lebt Eliott!
Marvin hingegen kommt aus einer anderen Gegend, in der es ruhiger zugeht.
Offensichtlich ein Viertel, in dem wohlhabendere Menschen leben.
Nachdem die Jungs eine Stunde gespielt haben, kommt ein durch Marvins Frage, wer wohl die ganzen Autoradios in der Gegend klaut, ausgelöstestes Gespräch zustande.
Eliott gibt zu verstehen, dass das Leute sind, die nichts haben und deshalb soetwas machen und er erwähnt, dass der Diebstahl eines Radios eher eine "Kleinigkeit" ist - wenn man wirklich was werden will, so er, muss man schon das ganze Auto klauen.
Im selben Atemzug beteuert Eliott aber, dass er nicht an den Diebstählen beteiligt ist...ohwohl er, wie er sagt, ein Jahr zuvor "Feldman's place" eingebrichen ist, um einen Fernseher zu stehlen - von diesem sagt er, dass er nie ienen teureren gesehen habe.
Als Strafe musste Eliott dann 8 Monate ins Gefängnis.
Marvin will sich am nächsten Tag wieder mit Eliott treffen, doch dieser winkt ab, da er "etwas zu tun" hat.
Auf dem Nachhauseweg kommen Marvin Gedanken aus der Schule, die klar werden lassen, dass er Eliott, der sehr schlechte Noten zu haben scheint, in Test hilft, damit er nciht von der Schule fliegt.
Marvin nimmt dann ein komisches Geräusch wahr und beobachtet ein sich lamgsam fortbewegendes Auto mit zerbrochenen Scheiben, in dem 2 Personen sitzen.
Sogleich wird ihm auf die Schulter gefasst - von Joe. Auch sein Bruder Bill und ein weiterer Junge kommen hinzu und drohen ihm Ärger an, wenn er irgendjemandem verrät, was er gesehen hat.
Nachdem Marvin dies versporchen hat kommt er nach Hause und sein Vater fragt ihn über seinen Tag aus.
Der Vater scheint ein feines Gespür dafür zu haben, dass sein Sohn irgendetwas Außergewöhnliches erlebt hat.
Aber die Geschichte kommt nciht ans Licht!
Am nächsten Tag in der Schule trifft Marvin die McDowell Brüder (Bill und Joe), die ihn nicht aus den Augen lassen.
Eliott wir indessen von zwei Polizisten vernommen und schreit auf dem Weg ins Büro "it just ain't fair" (das ist nicht fair).
In der Klasse will Marvin Eliott, der noch immer bei den Polizisten ist, verteidigen und sagt, dass er den ganzen Nachmittag mit ihm zusammen war!
Diese Aussage wird allerdings auch von dem Lehrer als falsch gedeutet, weil man offensichtlich gesehen hat, dass ein "Schwarzer" den Diebstahl begangen hat (hieraus lässt sich folgern, dass Eliott farbig ist).
Aus der hinteren Reihe kann man dann eine Stimme vernehmen, die sagt, dass es IMMER ein "Schwarzer" war!
Das spricht für Vorurteile gegenüber der farbigen Bevölkerung!
Als nächstes kommen die Polizisten mit Eliott zusammen ins Klassenzimmen und wollen mit Bill und Joe sprechen, die sich unwissend geben und nicht einsehen können, warum gerade sie vernommen werden sollen.
Man erfährt hier nur, dass die Jungs eine halbe Stunde später abgeführt werden (aus der Schule auf die Polizeistation).
Eliott eckt dann zum Schluss die Situation auf und erzählt, dass er nach dem Basketballspiel mit Marvin bei Herr Feldman war (er arbeitet da ein bisschen mit im Geschäft - offensichtlich als Entschädigung dafür, dass er ja ein Jahr zuvor dort eingebrochen ist).
Die Polizei hat dann diese Aussage überprüft und tatsächlich hat Herr Feldman bestätigt, dass Eliott den Nachmittag in seinem Geschäft geholfen hat.
Abschließend hat Herr Feldman der Polizei noch gesagt, dass einige Jugendliche ihm eine Menge Autoradios zum Kauf angeboten haben und hat die Namen der McDowell Brüder genannt.

diesen teil des textes verstehe ich noch nicht so richtig wer ist das im Auto?? Warum zerbrochene Scheibe??? Joe, Bill und großer Bruder wollen sie Marvin beschützen oder zu ertwas zwingen?????

Since he had tried a television to place and into a Geto lives is he probably poorer than Marvin in better part the city lives. As itself Marvin with Elliot to meet wanted and Elliot did not say which it something to do has has Marvin certainly noticed that somewhat is not correct. On the way home Marvin saw a car moving forward in that to two persons sat. Suddenly emerged Joe, Bill and another boy. They threatened Marvin with annoyance if it somebody of the thing would tell. As all Elliot held Marvin suspected the whole time to it. Elliot has it said which it no car radios klaut. As a best friend Marvin also trusted it. All thought the Elliot were involved in the thief stables. Where the policemen it had cross-examined, Marvin in the class has said that he with him the whole time basketball played. The teachers do not even have Elliot defended to separate were the opinion, there were seen blacker were it Elliot. I find it also not good that a pupil of the opinion am that it am blacker always. Elliot came again back into the class and short time the McDowell of brothers was later exhausted. In the end Elliot told everything. Mr. Feldmann has those it confirmed and still said that lately a few young person him many car radios to sell wanted and he the names of the McDowell of brothers called. I think the Elliot from its errors had learned and would certainly not still times have begun to place. |

Oje...das sieht aber wirklich übel aus!
Du solltest dir ganz, ganz dringend mal eine Grammatik kaufen und damit lernen!
Ich werde dir die ersten paar Sätze mal umstellen und vielleicht kannst du dich dann nochmal an den anderen Teil machen!

Generally I think that it was necessary to sentence Eliott to 8 moth in prison but I also think that it is very fair from Mr Feldman to give him a second chance.

Wenn du auf deutsch sagst "Ich finde..", dann heißt das auf englisch NICHT "I find..", sondern "I think.."

Also ich habe deine Sätze in den meines Textes eingefügt. Du hast Recht Englisch ist echt nicht meine Stärke. Ich bin ein hoffnungsloser fall. Das ist eben so. Bin auch in Nachhilfe das nächste Thema ist dann aufjedenfall Texte schreiben!!! Ich weiß das ist viel zu korrigieren. Werden den Tipp mit der Grammatik auch berücksichtigen. Ja ich habe die übersetzung von Amy genommen und habe eine Text auf DEUTSCH geschriebn und wort für Wort auf Englisch übersetzt. Mit der Grammatik verstehe ich nichts sber vielleicht hilft es mal mein Deutscher Text:
Ich finde es traurig das Elliot in einer Art Geto wohnt. Ich finde es gut dass Marvin sich so für Elliot einsetzt. Er hilft ihm im test damit er nicht von der Schule fliegt. Ich finde auch gut das Elliot für seine Tat bestraft wurde ist mit acht Monaten Gefängnis und als Endschädigung bei Herr Feldman mithalf. Da er versucht hatte einen Fernseher zu stellen und in einen Geto wohnt ist er wahrscheinlich ärmer als Marvin der in einer besseren Teil der Stadt lebt. Also gut, ich korrigiere dir deinen Text nochmal, aber du musst wirklich schauen, dass du mit der Grammatik weiterkommst!Ich habe deine deutsche Übersetzung jetzt leider gerade nciht vorliegen, aber da ich den Text ja kenne und dein englischer Text auf meine Zusammenfassung aufbaut, werde ich das denke ich hinbekommen

Die hatte ich dir auch schon korrigiert! Ich weiß nciht genau, warum du wieder "I find" schreibst, aber wenn du hochscrollst, findest du ja meine Übersetzung wieder...

I think it is not very good to have prejudices against black people. Therefore I think the statement of one if the boys in school that always blacks are in involved in crimes is really good.

After two pilice men hauled Eliott off Marvin tries to defend him while telling that he himself spend the whole afternoon with Eliott. Noone believed Marvin because someone saw a black boy stealing the car and therefore Eliott was aspersed. I think it is not very good to have prejudices against black people. Therefore I think the statement of one if the boys in school that always. Eliott and the police men came back in class and the police men lead the McDowell brothers away. In the end Eliott told what had happend. So danke das du *mein nicht so gut wie dein Englisch* verbessert hast. Ich habe es jetzt verbessert!!! Ist es nun richtig vielleicht noch einmal einen kleinen Blick darauf werfen. Dann werde ich auch hier die nächste Zeit nicht mit Englisch nerfen OK. trotzdem Viellen dank das du dir so viel Mühe gegeben hast. :)

Das Problem sind, wie ich schon beim letzten Mal gesagt habe, die folgenden Sätze:

Die sind so wirklich unverständlich und auch falsch!

Hallo!
Also...wer genau im Auto sitzt wird an dieser Stelle noch nicht deutlich!
Es lässt sich aber, wenn man den Schluss hinzuzieht, vermuten, dass es sich um Kumpels von Bill, Joe und dem anderen Jungen handelt, die in deren Auftrag beispielsweise das Auto klauen.
Es scheint also eine Gang zu sein!
Zerbrochene Scheibe darum, weil das Auto aufgebrochen wurde!
Achtung,"Bill, Joe und großer Bruder" stimmt so nicht! Bill und Joe sind Brüder, der andere ist offensichtlich nur ein Gangmitgleid, Kumpel oder was auch immer.
Sie wollen Marvin erpressen, bzw. dafür sorgen, dass er niemandem etwas von dem Autodiebstahl erzählt!
